The Theopolis Institute is pleased to announce that Fr. Mark Brians has been appointed as Director of the Theopolis Fellows Program, having served for two years as a Senior Fellow. Mark is rector of All Saints Anglican Church, in downtown Honolulu, a church he helped plant in 2019, and chaplain at Saint Benedict Hall, where he also teaches advanced Literature and Latin classes. He leads the Hawaii Network for the Anglican Diocese of the Rocky Mountains and teaches at Oahu Theological Seminary.
Mark's writing has appeared in various journals, including Reading Religion, Themelios, Christianity & Literature, and he writes occasionally for Logos’ ‘Word by Word’ blog and Anglican Compass.
He contributed to to the recent Popular Culture and Theology projects on J.R.R. Tolkien and “The Office.”
Mark is co-author with Drew Knowles of “Hospitality: The Convivial Mission of God” (2024, Athanasius), and is currently working on a book on the holy kiss.
Mark holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Hawaii Pacific University, and was a 2021 graduate of the Theopolis Fellows Program.
Mark lives in Liliha with his wife Rachel and their seven children.
