The Theopolis Institute and Immanuel Reformed Church Present:
"A Musical Tour of the Church Catholic"
Much of the music composed for pipe organ has been based on hymns and the liturgical music of the Christian church.
On the evening of March 14, organist and musicologist John Ahern will lead a musical tour through several traditions within the Church Catholic - the Church Universal - and will invite participation from the audience.
We will sing hymns and hear organ compositions based on hymns from the Catholic, Lutheran, Anglican, and Calvinist traditions. The concert will include music by J. P. Sweelinck, J. S. Bach, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Maurice Duruflé.
