ONLINE COURSE
Theopolis Online Workshop: Genealogies
Feb 22 - Mar 8
Online Term
Description

Three Saturdays, Saturday Feb. 22, March 1, & March 8
10am – 12pm CDT
Meet via Zoom
Cost: $100
Taught by James Bejon

Genealogies are not tangential to the Biblical narrative. They are a fundamental part of its fabric.  Everything in Scripture is connected (since every man and woman can be traced back to Adam), and genealogies are the way in which the Bible expresses those connections.

In this short Workshop, James Bejon will survey a number of different types of genealogies:  the ‘national’ genealogies of Genesis, the tribal genealogies of Chronicles, the early Israelite clan structures of Numbers, and ultimately Jesus’ genealogies.

The aim will be to acquire a working knowledge of the Bible’s genealogies in order to better understand the story of Scripture.

Please come prepared to dive into the details of some not-so-well-known passages.

Registrations is now open.

The course will meet for three Saturdays (February 22, March 1st and 8th), starting at 10am Central.

James’ background lies in music and financial maths. James has recently, however, become involved in explicitly Biblical research. His main research interests include onomastics, chronology, and figural interpretations of the Gospels. James is currently pursuing a PhD at Cambridge University focused on the semantic content of Biblical names. He worships at a church in Romford, London, where he lives.
