The Theopolis Institute Board added three new Board members at its semi-annual Board meeting on May 16: Dr. Roy Atwood, Pastor Uri Brito, and Rod Olps, Jr.

Formerly President of New Saint Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho, Atwood was recently appointed Abraham Kuyper Distinguished Professor of Classics at Morthland College in West Frankfort, Illinois, USA, and Director of the Morthland’s Founders Institute for Public Policy. Atwood brings decades of experience as a teacher, scholar, and college administrator to his new role on the Theopolis Board.

“I’m delighted to be on the Board and I look forward to working with Peter, Jim and the entire Theopolis team,” Atwood said. “I’m excited to be a small part of this amazing work and hope my experience in higher education may be helpful for developing and strengthening the Institute’s curricula and student programs in the years ahead.”

A native of Brazil, Brito is currently pastor of Providence Church (CREC) in Pensacola, Florida. He did undergraduate studies at Clearwater Christian College and has an MDiv from Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando, Florida. He is editor of The Church-Friendly Family.

“As I consider the wealth of liturgical and theological education offered by the Theopolis Institute I cannot help but think that this treasure needs to go beyond the borders of this country,” Brito says. “I hope to introduce the writings of Peter Leithart and James B. Jordan to the eager Brazilian pastors who are hungry for a rich Reformational catholic theology.”

Rod “Rusty” Olps, Jr., is managing partner of Revival Construction in Moscow, Idaho. He formerly served as Director of Sabbath House, an outreach ministry of Christ Church, Moscow, and as an administrator of Veritas School in Jackson, Mississippi.

Two Board members, Pastor Rich Lusk of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Birmingham, Alabama, and Joe Crawford of Missoula, Montana, rotated off the Board.
