Theopolis is delighted to announce that we have hired Brian Moats as Assistant to President Peter Leithart.

An Alabama native and graduate of Boyce College in Louisville, Brian is a professional photographer who has also worked as a salesman and dispatcher for Charter Communications and Wayne’s Environmental Services. Brian and his family are members of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Birmingham.

Brian first heard about Theopolis through his friend, fellow Theopolitan Jonathan Anderson. “Jonathan introduced me to the work of James B. Jordan, Peter Leithart, and Rich Lusk and I found their work incredibly thoughtful, challenging, and encouraging,” he said. When he heard about Theopolis, he says, “I was immediately interested in the prospect of moving to Birmingham to be a part of this new work in any way that I could.”

Brian will assist Dr. Leithart with promotions, social media, fund-raising, coordination of courses and other events, film and photography, and management of the Theopolis web site.

Brian hopes to “push Theopolis forward in providing rich content such as photography, videos, lectures and essays from our writers widely accessible.” He added, “I am also so excited to help with getting Theopolis connected with Birmingham pastors and churches to promote unity and love.”

“As our work grows, it’s essential for us to have a strong support staff. Brian has just the set of skills and passions we want and need,” Leithart said. “It’s a blessing to have him join us.”
